"My job is to create an environment for people to succeed."

As an athlete, I view teams as sacred. My first priority is to inspire a work environment where people feel they can do their best, take pride in our shared work vision, and deliver exceptional results everyone feels good about.

During this pandemic, personal and professional values are being clarified and redefined. Stress is at an all-time high and we need to look out for one another. I believe this starts at the top. Leaders have an opportunity to inspire, guide, and advocate for conditions that will generate excellence among the team and the broader organization.

Here are some things that shape my leadership style.

Open communication

Trust comes from being able to rely on steady and reliable information, now more than ever. I like to be as open and honest with my teams as possible. Listening is equally important. I welcome questions and encourage dialogue, as I find it produces easygoing work environments, high staff retention, great problem solving, innovation and creativity.

Authenticity

Each person brings unique strengths and perspectives to the team. I celebrate this. Leveraging people's strengths ensures work satisfaction, project ownership, and feeling valued. I want every member of the team to feel appreciated and heard.

Flexibility

People do their best work in different ways. I'm encouraged to see increased flexibility in the working world, as I have held this belief close to my heart even before the pandemic. Whenever possible, I actively support the flexibility needs of my team. This includes work-life balance, which fuels the creative process and supports both healthy living and productivity.

Achievement

My teams achieve results and have fun in the process. We regularly exceed business goals, generate revenue, build awareness, and any other goal we're given. There's nothing better than setting a goal and accomplishing greatness, together.

Empathy

Throughout my career, others have noticed and appreciated my natural concern for others, deep respect for social justice and equality, and high emotional intelligence.

I view leadership as a privilege that comes with responsibility and accountability. I love the chance to lead teams, whether cross-functional or direct reports. We have fun, do great work, and elevate the organization to new heights.
